Differentiating From The Rest

The idea for Zen Mobility was first conceived in the year 2017 by our founder Mr. Namit Jain, while he was pursuing his higher education in Germany. A close professional involvement at (name of the source of inspiration company) led him to critically analyse the existing scenario, challenges, and the role EVs could play in disrupting and potentially changing the paradigm in the Last-Mile Delivery Segment in India, much like it already had in Germany.

The Thought

An idea takes shape 

CEO/ Founder, Namit Jain has the idea for Zen Mobility while collaborating with a reputed EV Startup in logistics (Semi Trucks & Cargo Bikes) during his Master’s in Automotive Engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany (2016-18)

Zen Mobility Founded

Inception of Zen with two employees in 2018 in a single room.

Strengthening the idea

Market Research – Primary.  

The ZEN mobility team visited the largest e-commerce provider in India at the time. Pain points and needs identified. The team strengthens the initial concept with real-world input.

Giving form to the Idea

 Thoughts converted into design. Extremely focussed on consumer centric design in order to deliver a purpose built product with ease of riding, maneuverability and aesthetics.

First proto conceived to understand vehicle form factor and overall look

Reinforces the need for a last mile mobility solution. People are confined to homes and dependent on delivery for almost all essential requirements.

Completed 15,000 km on our test prototype to analyze the performance data.

Engineering team expands

Dream to Reality 

Added new engineers to the team to increase the capabilities of the vehicle. Expert engineers add unique real-world capabilities to the concept.

Further Tests 

Adding the magical blend of software simulation, Internet of Things as well as the strength of composites. Connected vehicle first test conducted with composite chassis.

The genesis of our mission to redefine e-mobility, Mr. Namit Jain, the CEO and Founder of Zen Mobility, has been instrumental in conceptualizing, implementing, and guiding the team towards his vision of bringing technology and design-oriented mobility solutions with the consumer as primal. With a technical acumen carefully developed during his time in Germany as a student of automotive engineering followed by a very fruitful tenure in Torino (Italy) where he delved deeper into the complex world of car design, Namit is surely someone who prefers to go into depth and challenge conventions. A degree in Business Management from Stanford University while also living in Silicon valley enabled him to assess his venture idea in the company of distinguished leaders. His persevering passion, and enthusiasm for the world of Electric mobility, have not only seen his vision come alive in the form of Zen Mobility but have also successfully paved the way for a new way of thinking about the EV transition, one where solutions are derived while empathizing with the consumer.

CTO

The foundational figure behind Zen Mobility’s technological novelties, our CTO, Mr. Lorenzo Carlet, has over 45 years of experience and knowledge of composite structures, light engineering, and production processes, having worked for global market leaders like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Lamborghini. With sound foundational training in Mechanical Engineering from one of Europe’s premier technical universities, ETH Zurich in Switzerland, Mr. Carlet’s intensive knowledge has contributed immensely towards realizing Zen Mobility’s vision for transforming e-mobility. A creative mind combined with holistic technical expertise, Mr. Carlet’s resourcefulness, and commitment are second to none.

Advisor

With more than 3 decades of experience in the Automotive Industry, Mr. Dave is an Advisor to the team and an important member of the Board at Zen Mobility. An alumnus of the coveted IIT Kanpur and a long and impactful stint at Maruti Suzuki as the Head of Production Engineering, Mr. Dave’s exhaustive understanding of the automobile industry has been of paramount importance in guiding the team at Zen Mobility. With his profound wisdom and mentorship, we remain confident of moving forward in the right direction.

Prerna Awasthi

Head-Business Strategy & Marketing

Headstrong and extremely focused with an unparalleled work ethic, Ms. Prerna Awasthi, heads the Marketing and Business Strategy operations for Zen. With over 11 years of being associated with renowned organizations like the Hero Cycles Group and JTEKT and leading a wide range of Product Marketing and Social Media projects, Prerna brings a sense of originality and creativity to the team compounded with her ability to critically analyze situations from multiple perspectives enabling her to not only overcome roadblocks but also do so in imaginative and fresh ways.

All our Prototyping and Production operations are supervised by Mr. Harshit Khandelwal. An electrical engineer with valuable previous experience of working with electric vehciles, Harshit is also known as that one team member who can devise and implement unique solutions to problems that would otherwise seem impossible to solve.

Areeb Khan

Procurement Engineer

All of Zen Mobility’s procurements are overseen and managed very effectively by Mr. Areeb Khan. Areeb is known for his soft skills where his sharp wit and admirable negotiation skills have always proven to be a bonus for us at Zen. Areeb has an eye for detail and has on numerous counts delivered relevant and impactful solutions under pressure.
